Hands off, keep away, do not talk about it, do not think about it, and do not look at it all because the vagina is perceived to be dirty. Most people including women have accepted the notion that the vagina is dirty without being able to defend.  Why? This is simple. Most of these women have no clue what constitute the vagina they are carrying.

An interesting scenario is the existence of the concepts of down there. It has been presumed that the vagina is at a mysterious place where we need supernatural powers to visit. It is not far away down that it cannot be touched, reached or seen. It should be established that, the more you look at your vagina, the more familiar and better you get and the more you understand what you carry. This would make you even more comfortable with the correct names of every part and how each work for you. The vagina is not a forbidden garden. Touching and looking at these areas never reduce your character, personality or morals. It is therefore necessary to touch and look at it to get the sense of normalisation.

It should be emphatically stated that the vagina is not dirty. The vaginal environment is dominated by friendly components whose main purpose is to protect the vagina. The major ones are the bacteria and the discharge. Many females have the misconception that, all vaginal discharges are dirty. This is actually not the truth because normal vaginal discharge contains healthy components in water, bacteria and cells from the walls of the vagina. Don’t panic, the bacteria you see in the healthy vagina do not cause infections and disease. Well, we always eat yoghurt and we feel good but they are produced using bacteria. In the case of the vagina these bacteria are our good friends and very important and essential for health. The normal vaginal discharge should therefore be given some respect and not be seen as a source of dirt for the vagina. It is the natural cleanser of the vagina and its nicest components. The only time a vaginal discharge should be alarming is when it is accompanied by pain, odour and itchiness.

If you are separated from your vagina in your thinking for it being dirty or any other reasons, you can work to change it. We need to dump the idea of the vagina being dirty because reconnection with your vagina is very possible and this brings about self-love. Our aim for the familiarity with your vagina is not to use the vagina as your play grounds. Remember private parts are meant to be private. It is good to take ownership of yourself. Your vagina doesn’t belong to your father, mother, partner or doctor. It belongs to you. Take total control over it. Take a bold step, know it and see a specialist when you have abnormalities. The vagina is not dirty!
